JOB TITLE Bookkeeper


LOCATION Williamstown, MA

The Bookkeeper works with an accountant at Prix Fixe Accounting to assist with the client  accounts.The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping of client books, and working with the accountant to generate financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. The Bookkeeper must be comfortable working in an efficient, paperless, cloud-based environment. PFA uses Quickbooks Online exclusively, with additional cutting-edge third-party software to provide a comprehensive platform for clients, so training and proficiency in these softwares is required. The key component of a successful career with Prix Fixe Accounting is integrity and a genuine understanding of hospitality; this is essential to the job in order to develop a long-term client relationship that is built on trust and our shared interest in their success.


  • Payroll - Payroll will generally be performed by an accountant however, general understanding of payroll functions are necessary. Employee on-boarding, and entry of some payroll via Journal Entry may occasionally be required.

  • Daily Sales - Manual entry of zero-entry sales receipts when required

  • Accounts Payable - Accurate and efficient entry of bills and receipts into GL

  • Vendor Reconciliation - Reconcile vendor statements to ensure no bills or credits are missed.

  • Bank Reconciliations - Update bank feeds and reconcile statements, as required.

  • Automation and Efficiency - Recognize opportunities where clients can benefit from 3rd party applications to increase efficiency. Work with Operations Manager to implement these applications.

  • Reporting - Work with Accountant to review and prepare financials for analysis and client meetings.

  • Year End Preparation - Quarterly or Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and review of financials to ensure accuracy. Assist in preparing client file for CPA review and tax preparation.


  • Minimum of an associates degree in accounting or business administration

  • A strong work ethic, including self motivation, attention to detail, follow through and analytical ability.

  • Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of detail and accuracy.

  • The ability to work well in a team-centered environment

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • QuickBooks Online proficiency required. Quickbooks Online Certification required within first month of employment. Quickbooks Online Advanced Certification required within first year.

  • Must be comfortable with cloud-based applications and have proficiency with G-Suite applications.

  • Experience working in the hospitality not required, but is highly recommended.
