Changes to the Restaurant Revitalization Fund Application Process

After weeks of negotiation with the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Independent Restaurant Coalition was able to convince the SBA to remove the DUNS # registration, and SAM registration from the Restaurant Revitalization Fund Grant application process.

This is a massive victory for small business owners, as the process for getting a DUNS/SAM number was a truly painful process, requiring you to go through the painful process of verifying your business through two third parties. This process is still in place for the “Shuttered Venue Operator Grants.”

If you have already gotten started with the process, you don’t have to continue. Don’t worry, if you did get a DUNS number or a SAM number, its not going to hard you in any way, or create any barriers to getting this grant. Simply take the information you have, and move on.

What information is needed to apply now?

So what will be required for the Restaurant Revitalization Grants? Well, a lot of the same information that was required for the DUNS number. Thankfully, all of the information that was needed for the SAM number is no longer needed. We hosted a webinar a few weeks ago on what was needed, and you can watch it here. While some of the information is now out of date, “the list” is still very relevant for the documents and information you still need.

So now what?

We should have some more information soon. Stay tuned, and we’ll be hosting a webinar in the near future on the finalized information for the application.
